NEBULAR Collection 1 The Triton Base Episodes 1 5 eBook Thomas Rabenstein Arndt Drechsler Ralf Zeigermann Michael Köckritz
Fans of pulp-influenced space opera with lots of action will enjoy this initial volume of Thomas Rabenstein's series. Although the series kicks off with the five episodes collected in this book, hints of a deep history and an expansive universe filled with many opportunities for adventure are scattered throughout the narrative. Based on TRITON BASE, Perry Rhodan fans pining for new English translation ms of that series will find a solid substitute in Nebular. Like in The Expanse, a massive universe of mystery and wonder teases the characters, but readers will find a faster pace in Nebular's plot points. Rabenstein grounds his technology in actual knowledge of science's current state. Some of the info dumps necessary for bringing readers up to speed on narrative background slow down the narrative, but the author handles this competently. I look forward to the next collected volume.Tags : NEBULAR Collection 1 - The Triton Base: Episodes 1 - 5 - Kindle edition by Thomas Rabenstein, Arndt Drechsler, Ralf Zeigermann, Michael Köckritz. NEBULAR Collection 1 The Triton Base Episodes 1 5 eBook Thomas Rabenstein Arndt Drechsler Ralf Zeigermann Michael Köckritz Reviews
Great novell - this is the first book of the Nebular series ( another ones are coming soon ).
The Nebular crew guides you ( and me ) thru the universe in a easy reading way - that means this is SciFi but not too technical compared with other ones.
It is also available in french and german language.
I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book, it's really easy reading but not to annoy the Rhodan fans...but it seems to me that this author takes his characters to a personal level, instead of mass spaceship battles where uncountless und unnamed beings being obliviated and not even a thought being lost to them and their fates.
I enjoyed the time line jumps to the story although not always smoothly presented, while reading the one passage I could not help but to wonder what the development would be when the time line re-continued.
..I am very excited to read the following novels because I have really noticed that this books Universe is really based on our current one which makes it easy to relate to if one has a basic knowledge our post millennium modern astronomy.
I find this first novel to be extremely modern and depicts a view into a real possible future which our species may one day find themselves in(underwater cities and colonizing the known Star system(s)) , although currently the United States Government's annual budget for the tent air conditioner systems in Iraq and Afghanistan is higher then that of the NASA program....maybe we will get lucky one day.
..ahh this book lets you dream again....
I'm reading this for the second time and it's even better than the first time. It's such a fascinating story. The twist on history original and the characters are believable. Get it you'll like it.
What I did not like about the books, the over use of the exclamation point, and random size/measurements given at odd times. I mention these because you can't fix it if you don’t know whats broken.
What I thoroughly enjoy about these books is the story line, the depth of the characters, and the use of the technology available to them. I find them all very interesting and agreeable within the theme of the story line and how it is developing.
I am definitely going to read the entire series, and explore any other books Tom Rabenstein pens.
Well worth the reading time. Simply an enjoyable series.
