Set in the 9th Century English Isles, this book could mire down in historical facts and just telling us what we need to know about that time and culture, but the author resists that temptation. Even with the name "Ediva," which we are never told how to pronounce, our heroine comes alive and we begin to root for her as the story emerges. Sometimes the "Love Inspired" series is so intent on the romantic side of the novel, that they forget the plot. The reader will be pleased to know that this author doesn't know the 'formula' and writes as if she planned a cover to cover plot. You gotta love that! The characters are fully filled out, the story moves along smoothly and, yes, you 'accidentally' learn about the culture and history along the way. Jump right in. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one by this author.

I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline was good. Character development was good. There were some misspellings but not enough to ruin the story.
The love inspired book and the love inspired historical books from wal-mart are Christian based stories ! I really love these books. They are by different authors , but always by a Christian author ! You will really like these, I am sure of it !!
Wow, this read was boring and tedious. I really dislike reading books about a heroine having been abused and because of that drowns herself in self-pity. I did not like the heroine at all from the beginning. When she finally changed her fish wife ways it was too late in the book, which was why she did not endear herself to me even then. There was no romance in this book, except for a free kisses here and there. I don't like to read about too over the top intimacy, but there should at least be some so that you can get a feel for the h/h love blossoming. I did not get that here. The h/h romance was very drab. I liked that there was a devout faith of Christianity in the hero, but the book was more about faith and politics than of romance. This book should be classified as a Christian faith title rather than a romance book. I would
not recommend this book if you are seeking to read a true Norman Conquest book. If you would like to read a true Norman Conquest ROMANCE, I recommend, The Axe, His Enemy's Daughter, Gem of Grevane just to name a few. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this book, I could have spent it on a book I would have liked.
I really loved this story, just finished it. Ediva had a horrible first marriage and doesn't want to get married again when her abusive husband got killed. Well, the king has other ideas and forces her to marry again, Adrien is so patient with her and the way he earns her trust is just wonderful. I enjoyed this book very much.
I have a read a fair amount of the Love Inspired books. Some have been ok, some having been pretty good, and others have been roll your eyes unbearable. This book was truly amazing. The time period is certainly intriguing, and the author does a great job weaving in the details without making it seem like a lecture. The characters are REAL, not your stereotypical protagonists. The characters are flawed (although Adrien is a little bit too good to be true at times and certainly has some pretty feminist view of things), but overall, the book was very well done. Usually these novels are pretty fluffy, but this one had more substance. Definitely recommend.
Widowed Ediva, a Saxon, is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her people. Having suffered a terrible first marriage, Ediva is forced to marry Adrien, a Norman, or risk losing her land.

In this story, we see the life of a strong woman who is willing to take risks, even to the extent of putting her own life at risk, for those she loves and learns to love.

This was a well written novel, which I thoroughly enjoyed. After reading this book, I would definitely look for more books by the same author. Besides enjoying the storyline, I enjoyed reading about the history between the Saxon's and Norman's.

Besides the flavor of a historical novel, it also has some elements of a suspense novel to it.

I would definitely want to read this book again.... soon!
I enjoyed reading Bound to the Warrior for a couple of different reasons for one thing, I like clean romance; I ejoyed the medieval storyline of two people thrown together in marriage for political reasons, where the marriage turns out to be a success - Adrian is the perfect hero who respects and protects women. He realizes his wife, Ediva, has major issues with matrimony and he is willing to work them out.
The Christian part of this romance is that Ediva is bitter about her 1st marriage (also political) , and the way she was treated by priest. He told her to get used to the violence she endured from her first barbaric husband. The realistic way in which Ediva's heart is slowly melted is sweet. It is not all at once. The storyline contains enough connecting pieces that it kept my attention - in other words, it was not fluffy romance, it had substance.
The reason I give 4 stars is because I thought that Adrian could have been a little more affectionate, in that he did alot of hand kissing. I realize at first, Ediva was hardly ready for even that, but as their trust and the relationship grew, so I felt Adrian should have made his affection more known (not pg-13 or anything, but more kissing would have been nice).
